Remedy Films Turns to Pixil 3D for their Next Wake Video
The Pixil team is excited to collaborate on the upcoming Malibu Boats and SMG Wake annual film by Remedy Films. Using our knowledge and resources in 3D we pitched an idea that could very well revolutionize the way we see 3D used in film. We had the idea to 3D print, using our MakerBot Replicators, all of the wakeboard riders’ names and the film sponsor logos. With that, we imagined how cool it would be if the riders could actually interact with their names instead of relying on the super imposed intros normally implemented in post production.
Imagine for a moment, a 3D printed title on a rail and in focus as a rider slides across and hits the name, sending it spinning in camera at 1000 frames per second. Yeah, that would be pretty awesome! At those speeds, as you can see in this demo video below, water droplets are crystal clear and perfectly defined. And that my friends, is the level of innovation we like to entertain!
